Really good! I'm a bit of a ramen connoisseur and, while this wasn't really ramen, it had a lot of similarities. It reminded me of a cross between regular Japanese Tonkotsu ramen but with the spiciness that you get from a lot of Korean soups and dishes. I don't mind spicy food at all, and can handle the really spicy stuff. We originally asked for level 2 spice and the woman thankfully talked us down to level 1 because it was a bit on the spicy side.
I love food

I really like this malatang place! The lady is super nice, and the ambience is kind of noisy when there's other customers but quiet enough to where you can talk to each other. The self service aspect of this restaurant is really smart! The freshness of the vegetables and the meat enhances the eating experience here. The broth is especially good when there are not as much customers! Overall, this place is amazing great place to go with friends or family!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Malatang was pretty spicy, but it was the expected spiciness so I had no problem eating it. Overall, anyone who likes spicy food should totally go there and try some of their malatang (and other food on the menu)!!! The first photo is the malatang I ordered and the second one is called double cooked pork slices.

Love this place. I've always done the stir fry option with either spice level 1 or 2. They charge by pound and you can add beef or lamb for extra charge, and is well worth!

The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. I got level 0 spice and boy was I glad I got that since my husband got level 1 spicy and that had a kick. The stock for the soup was very delicious and they do not kid about the spiciness, so be warned :p They have a bar where you can grab meat and veggies and then you take it up to the counter where they weigh it (like 2 dollars per 100g which is like 4oz i think) and they have fried rice that is very good as well (not spicy).

Try the stir fried version instead of soup version at Pixiu! I’ve been here many times, but just recently decided to give the stir friend version a try, and it’s bomb!! A common rookie mistake I’ve noticed is ordering too much, so be sure to tread lightly at the food bar since it’s all measured by weight. Another key tip is to opt for the 0.5 spicy level if you like spicy but not too much. 0.5 spicy here is comparable to the heat level of Xin ramen. I’ve tried the soup hot pot before, and I loved it, but stir fry is next level good. Highly recommend.

Ordered level 1.5 spicy mala and it came out nice. You pick your own stuff on a plate, they weigh it (albeit including the plate), and you pay by the pound. I got two types of noodles, tofu, mushroom, and pork on my plate. Level 1.5 is similar to spicy buldak ramen, so i wouldnt go hotter than that unless you really can handle spicy. To add on, spicy here has more korean taste than the numbing type chinese spicy. Ended up paying 30 for the plate and it fed 2 people.

Been to this place a couple of times. I really love their Maratang on a cold gloomy day. If you are having it for the first time, I wouldn't recommend any cilantro leaves into the mix and ask for the yellow pickled radish if they forgot to serve it. Spicy level 1 might be a good choice for the beginners.
